HIGH COMMISSION
MISSION STATEMENT & GOAL STATEMENT
Diplomatic relations between Canada and Zambia were established in 1966 with a mandate and mission to effectively promote and
protect Zambia’s interests and maintain good international relations in order to contribute to sustainable development.
The goal of the High Commission in Ottawa is to safeguard Zambia’s interests and promote proactive diplomacy in order to
contribute to national security. Furthermore, the High Commission role is to promote Economic Diplomacy using political,
economic and socio-cultural ties with Canada and accredited countries so that Zambian products can have access to Canadian
markets and other accredited countries.
The High Commission is continually engaged in activities to promote and encourage the business communities in accredited
countries to invest in Zambia which has abundant natural resources and conducive business environment and opportunities.
Zambia is represented in Canada by a High Commission in Ottawa.
